Art Month Sydney is a new month-long festival that celebrates the vibrancy and diversity of Sydney's thriving visual arts scene.

Art Month Sydney runs from 1–31 March 2010, uniting the various elements of the city's art world under one umbrella for the first time. A diverse cross-section of art will be showcased with more than 70 of Sydney's leading commercial galleries, artist-run initiatives, public art museums and auction houses hosting exhibitions, talks, behind-the-scenes tours and special events across the city. People of all ages and art inclinations are invited to engage with the work of artists as part of the first Art Month Sydney.

For the duration of Art Month Sydney, galleries located within the weekly focus precinct will extend their opening hours to provide guests with an opportunity to experience, after hours, a cross-section of current art exhibitions.

Late Night Thursdays provide the perfect chance to enjoy a glass of wine while wandering through your local galleries, discovering your very own ‘art trail’ with friends after work. The late night openings will culminate each week in an Art Bar featuring a dj from FBi Radio. Detail below.

Gallery 9

The enigmatic artist What will present yet another exciting exhibition. The show will primarily consist of paintings, but with a few surprises. What's 2007 exhibition at Gallery 9 in Sydney was chosen as the ninth best exhibition in Australia in 2007 by the ABC arts program, 'The Art Life'. The art critic Sebastian Smee described What as 'one of the most exciting young artists around' in his review of the show in The Australian. What had a survey exhibition at the NAS Gallery in May 2009 and his work is in the collections of the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra and Monash University Museum of Art, Melbourne.
